Heroji off Srbije
Hvala 🙂
Here are some photos from a comics workshop inspired by a legendary movie Innocence Unprotected directed by Dusan Makavejev. The movie is about a famous Serbian strongman and acrobat Dragoljub Aleksic. The workshop was held in Elektrika gallery in Pancevo, on June 28th and it was run by Nina Bunjevac (a comics artist from Canada). She was just traveling through Europe and Balkans those days. Since the whole event was a part of GRRR! program, the coordinator of the workshop was Sasa Rakezic alias Aleksandar Zograf.
I have to point out that Nina planned and executed the workshop marvelously. In this unusual jam session, there were ten or so of us, and thanks to well prepared material, during just one day we made 15 pages of comics. Near the end of the workshop Makavejev himself joined us and I think he really liked what he saw 🙂
Finished comics were exhibited to curious audience who, to be honest, came to see Makavejev rather than comics. But that’s great too because it is wonderful to see Elektrika so packed and lively 🙂
Sasa Rakezic lead a short conversation with Nina Bunjevac and Dusan Makavejev. Parts of the Innocence Unprotected movie were shown and Nina showed us her great new comic she exhibited at the CRACK festival in Rome.
And here’s Nina’s foto report on Facebook. Enjoy!
Photos (except second and fourth) by Stefan Malešević. Thanks 🙂
